Cindy Holscher Says One Thing. Her Record Says Another.

Fact Check: Corporate interests and political insiders have funded her career in politics for over a decade.

But campaign finance records show she has accepted significant money from corporate interests and industry PACs, including contributions from Big Tobacco and Big Pharma.

Fact Check: Cindy Holscher is constantly running from her record, shifting her position, and at times outright lying about what she has done.

On issue after issue, Cindy Holscher’s position seems to change depending on the audience.

On the Chiefs stadium deal, she claimed she did not vote for the STAR bonds proposal that incentivized the team to come to Kansas. That’s false. Cindy Holscher voted yes in 2024.

On data centers, she voted for the bill to bring them to Kansas. Now, she’s claiming she doesn’t support data centers because “the information now that [she] has” changed her mind.

Kansans deserve leaders who do their homework. Senator Holscher should do hers, and stop making excuses and attempting to cover up her record.

Fact Check: Her Johnson County senate district started voting for Democrats years before she ran for the seat.

Cindy Holscher repeatedly points to her electoral history in “red districts” as proof that she can win tough races.

Her Johnson County district was trending Democratic before Cindy ran for office. It is not the deep red battleground district that she claims.

• 2022 Governor: Laura Kelly won 64.3% – 33.7%
• 2024 Presidential: Kamala Harris won 59.5% – 38.8%

Fact Check: She claims she’s taken out two incumbents, but when she ran for the state senate, the seat was open.

Cindy Holscher says she’s beaten the Republican incumbent multiple times. The facts say otherwise.

In her first House campaign, Holscher defeated an incumbent; but never faced another Republican incumbent during the 2018, 2020, or 2024 election cycles.

In 2020, Holscher did not defeat Republican incumbent Jim Denning. Before voters ever cast a ballot, Denning announced he would not seek re-election, making the race an open seat.

That means Holscher never faced, or defeated, the incumbent in the general election after her first race.

The bottom line: You can’t claim to have beaten an incumbent who wasn’t running.

Kansas voters deserve facts, not political spin. Holscher has been an establishment incumbent, not a red district winner. Her claim that she’s beaten Republican incumbents multiple times is simply false, and she should stop making it.

Fact Check: Holscher is an insider. She has held political office for nearly ten years and received establishment support.

Cindy Holscher wants Kansans to believe she stands against the political establishment.

The problem is simple: she is the establishment.

She has been in elected office for a decade. Her campaigns have been encouraged and supported by insiders. And she has tried to rebrand herself as the outsider when she is, by any honest definition, a political insider herself.

She claims the party discouraged her from running for the state senate, yet the sitting Senate Minority Leader spoke at her campaign launch in 2020.

There is nothing wrong with public service. There is something wrong with pretending you are not part of the political class after spending years inside it.

Senator Holscher should stop running from her own record.

Fact Check: Holscher’s own resume proves this is false.

Cindy Holscher multiple times has claimed she “designed and implemented budgets, gosh, for operations tremendously larger than our state budget.”

That is an extraordinary claim. It deserves extraordinary evidence.

But her own public resume does not back it up.

The state budget passed by the Legislature in 2026 amounted to over $26 billion dollars. According to Holscher’s own resume, Sprint/RH Donnelly’s annual revenue was approximately $290 million. Considering that, the marketing department’s budget from that could not possibly be larger than the state budget.

Holscher’s professional record describes corporate experience at Sprint, but it does not show executive-level responsibility for a budget larger than the State of Kansas. Managing projects, teams, or internal business functions is not the same as developing, managing, or having veto power over a state budget or overseeing a government with tens of thousands of employees that people depend on.

Senator Holscher should correct the record.

Direct quote: “For several years before being in the legislature [in] my professional life I actually designed and implemented budgets for departments [that were] substantially larger than the state government. And additionally did product development and increased revenues – that’s what I do.”

Fact Check: Holscher joined a union seven months after she launched her campaign, with an expired substitute teacher license.

Cindy Holscher wants Kansans to think she is a longtime union member. But public reporting shows that Holscher, a corporate manager and career politician, only joined a union in January of 2026.

A labor official decried Holscher’s claims of union membership as “political theater” and called out her statements “[attacking] the credibility and integrity of organized labor” at the June 11 KCUR Debate.

The truth is Cindy had an emergency substitute teaching license. It lapsed in 2025. She became a Kansas National Education Association union member in January 2026. She got her union membership with an expired license and has never taught a day in Kansas public school while being a union member.

Instead, according to her own resume, Holscher was a corporate manager at Sprint Yellow Pages where she worked for over a decade, and has since been a career politician for a decade.

Kansas workers deserve that their elected officials not claim to be one of them only when it becomes politically useful.

Fact Check: Since launching her campaign, Holscher has missed half of the meetings held by the committee responsible for oversight and accountability in Kansas state government.

Cindy Holscher says she’s the most successful state legislator, but she’s really a career politician who hasn’t bothered to show up for work.

Holscher skipped committee meetings on property taxes twice, in January and July, while Kansas families struggle with rising property taxes. She also skipped meetings on free lunch for Kansas kids and the future of the SNAP program.

Kansans deserve that Senator Holscher show up and do the work they elected her to do.
